According to McKay, Wave power has the potential to generate about 40 kw/m of coastline. We assume that the U.S has 12,000 miles of coastline, or 19,312,128 m. So...
40 kw/m * 19,312,128 m = 772485120 kw
772485120 kw / 312,000,000 people = 2.5 kw/person
Since kw is kJ/s the conversion to kwh/person/day is...
(2.5 kw * 3600 sec.)/365 days = 24.66 kwh/day/person
We must also take into account the 50% efficiency so 12.33 kwh/person/day
This value is pretty unrealistic because all coastline can't be use for wave power.
